Established in 2014, the CRA is on a mission to revitalize Columbus.

The CRA has the ability to buy and sell property, borrow money, and enter into partnerships to meet its mission of redevelopment.

 

The Columbus Redevelopment Authority is a five member board originally appointed by the Mayor and City Council of Columbus to manage the city’s urban renewal districts.

Revitalizing Columbus, One Project at a Time.

The CRA has undertaken two projects to date. The first was the marketing and sale of the former Lee High School property to be redeveloped. The second project, currently ongoing, is the renewal of the Burns Bottom neighborhood, now formally known as Park View

 

Who are the Columbus Redevelopment Authority?

The CRA are a five person group of volunteers, plus the board attorney, and the manager of federal projects for the City of Columbus.

 

The Columbus Redevelopment Authority was established in 2014 pursuant to Chapter 35 of Title 43 of the Mississippi Code, which is titled “Urban Renewal and Redevelopment”.
